Rose: Ok so first argument of the honeymoon. I mention to Chris that we are now down to our last €100. ( after about a million times of trying to get him to change some of our dollars into euros) the problem is that “Parsleys Pursuit” of the perfect exchange rate means we have not done it yet. He loses his rag and says I have not kept him informed of the cash, and from now on he will control the money. He keeps on top of these things you know! For those of you who know Chris’s system of scrumpled notes in pocket A or pocket B , you will understand my annoyance. And then let me add that if you look in his car at anytime you will find various notes lying around. He never has any idea of how much money he has. Ok enough said we moved on to the exciting task of picking up the motor home.
Chris: Scrumpled notes? I have a great system, just never get round to implementing it.

The day we have been planning for months. It is with huge anticipation and a fair sense of fear and trepidation that we arrive to pick up our six meter home for the next 5 weeks. After all the paper work is completed with Teutonic efficiency, yah? We are given an extensive tour and briefing of ‘Pussy the Parsley Pozzi’ , who knew that black water is what goes down the toilet? This is then removed in a ‘ cassette’, emptied and slipped back into place again. Can’t wait for my first time.
Off we go! Takes a few minutes of getting used to, wrong side of the road, no rear view mirror, and a lot bigger than anything I’ve driven before.

rose: we found a great spot for the night and did our first set up. Gosh it’s like a military operation. Awning up , gas on, electric plugged in, boiler on and fridge set to electric so the beer and wine stays cold.
We found a Lidl and had a lovely dinner of cold cuts and cheese. What more could you ask f
